About QR Code Generator
A QR code is a two-dimensional barcode that encodes text directly into its pattern. Whatever you encode is contained in the image itself — there is no lookup, no server and no account behind it. Point a camera at it and the data comes straight out of the pixels.
That matters because many QR generators produce codes that point at their own domain and redirect to your real destination. Those codes stop working when the service shuts down, changes its pricing or decides your free tier has expired, and every scan is logged by a third party. The codes generated here encode your content directly, so they work forever, work offline, and report nothing to anyone.
Error correction is built into the format. Depending on the level you choose, a code can still be read with up to 30% of its area damaged or obscured — which is what makes it possible to place a logo in the centre of a QR code without breaking it.

Error correction levels
- L (Low) — recovers about 7% damage. Smallest, densest code; good for clean digital display.
- M (Medium) — about 15%. The usual default and a sensible balance.
- Q (Quartile) — about 25%. Worth using for printed material that may get scuffed.
- H (High) — about 30%. Required if you intend to overlay a logo in the centre.
Making a code that actually scans
- Keep strong contrast between foreground and background. Dark on light is the reliable combination; inverting it breaks many scanners.
- Print at 2 cm square or larger for close-range scanning, and considerably larger for posters and signage.
- Leave the quiet zone — the blank margin around the code — intact. Without it, scanners struggle to locate the pattern.
- Shorter content produces a simpler, more reliable code. Shorten long URLs before encoding them.
- Always test the finished code with more than one phone before printing it at scale.
